Math Lesson Plan
This lesson was the introductory lesson for the 5th grade students involving the multiplication of fractions and whole numbers. I created and implemented my first pre-assessment, which is the document to the right. I used the data from the pre-assessment to drive my instruction and develop small groups for the next lesson in this unit. I learned how to use data obtained from assessments in order to impact student learning.

Science Lesson Plan
This lesson was the introductory lesson to the "Earth's Place in the Universe" 5th grade unit. We covered key vocabulary, discussed how the Earth moves (orbit, revolve, rotate), and built models that show how the Earth, sun, and moon all travel in relation to each other (shown to the right). Through this lesson I learned how important inquiry based learning is in Science, and how I can reflect on these practices in order to drive my Science instruction.

Language Arts Lesson Plan
This lesson focused on the comparing and contrasting of two different literature pieces by the same author, in a 3rd grade classroom. We read both of the pieces during small group work, reflected on them, and came together during whole group instruction to discuss and fill out the Compare/Contrast Chart (shown on the right). Through this lesson I learned how to model using a graphic organizer for students, as well as how to tie learning to real-life concepts; such as POV and perspectives.
